• To promote the advancement of basic and clinical research on prevalent and emerging gastrointestinal infections.
• To promote scientific knowledge and disseminate the information collected to the members of the society and the general public from time to time.

• To provide a common platform for those active in the field of gastrointestinal infections so that discussions of problems of gastrointestinal infections can be conducted on a national scale.
